Plant ID Plant name Culture ht X width(in) Zone Description
252 Oenothera macrocarpa 7X18 4 Tough plains perennial. This evening primrose has huge 4” yellow flowers that open each afternoon. Fantastic seed pods follow. WN DR TNT
118 Origanum calcaratum 15X24 7 Another dynamite oregano for larger rock gardens. Fuzzy grey arching branches end in beautiful mauve and rose tinged flower clusters. Colorful from July until frost. One of my favorites. DR TNT
119 Origanum dictamus 12X18 Like a smaller version of O. calcarticum, fuzzy grey foliage and arching wands of pink tinted flowers and bracts. DR TNT
120 Origanum microphyllus 18X24 A very different oregano with tiny grey-green leaves in neat mound. Late spring it is covered with airy sprays of pink flowers. Simply beautiful, and very different. DR TNT
117 Origanum ‘Barbara Tingey’ 5X18 6 Probably our favorite oregano. Low mat-like habit with long clusters of pink flushed bracts in late summer. Gorgeous trailing over and between rocks. Highly recommended, as are all of the smaller oreganos. DR TNT
912 Origanum ‘Golden Gem’ 10X20 3 I am very excited about this chance seedling that appeared in our garden. Mounds of chartreuse leaves that are backed with burgundy. Instead of the usual insignificant flowers that occur on most gold oreganos, this one has small hop-like flower bracts around larger pink flowers. Much showier than any other gold leaved oregano we have seen. DR TNT
123 Origanum ‘Suendermanii’ 7X12 A very delicate and lovely dwarf oregano with small bright green leaves and pink tubular flowers peeking out between beautiful long bracts of green and pink. Perfect for a choice location. Stays very compact. DR TNT
