38 Delosperma ashtonii 4X12 6 A dwarf iceplant from the Drakensberg mountains of South Africa. Flowers are bright pink with a white center, and quite striking. Excellent for sunny troughs. TNT
801 Delosperma basuticum 1X4 5 Dense clumps of succulent triangular green leaves on a very dwarf and compact delosperma. Exquisite yellow flowers with a white eye. We have not grown it in the open garden, but it is very nice in pots.
40 Delosperma Ouberg 2X10 5 Another charming dwarf iceplant from South Africa. Small pickle like leaves form a dense mat graced with cute white flowers in summer. TNT
37 Delosperma ‘Beaufort West’ 2X10 5 Charming succulent forms dense green mounds with 1 inch wide pink, white-eyed flowers from spring until frost, even if hot and dry. Very cute. TNT
284 Delosperma ‘Mesa Verde’ 2X12 4 This iridescent, salmon-pink-flowered sport is vigorous, compact and floriferous. The shimmering flower color has to be seen to be believed. It appeared amongst seedlings of D. cooperi at the Denver Botanical Garden. TNT
591 Dianthus 'Eileen Lever' 3X12 A hybrid of Dianthus erinaceus that forms dark green prickly buns with bright pink flowers that are much larger than the species. We like this one a lot.
43 Dianthus arpadianus pumilus 3X6 4 Worth growing just for the absolutely perfect buns of tiny dense green leaves. Decked out with small pink flowers in spring. A precious plant native to mediterranean rocky slopes. One of our absolute favorites. As Dianthus go, fairly gopher resistant due to the prickly leaves. TNT
44 Dianthus erinaceus 3X15 4 Possibly my favorite Dianthus. Hard spiny domes of green, dotted with stemless dark pink flowers in early summer. A Turkish delight worth testing for deer resistance. Very tough and relatively gopher resistant as well due to prickly leaves. TNT
46 Dianthus haematocalyx pindicola 3X8 5 Delightful alpine Dianthus forms tiny grey green mounds. The mounds expand with luminous red-rose flowers in late spring. Keeps blooming even in the heat. A favorite from the Balkan Mts. TNT
53 Dianthus subacaulis 4X5 3 Dense spiny grey mounds with small pink flowers on delicate stems. Endemic to hot dry southwestern alps.
54 Digitalis ferruginea 24X12 0 Very tough foxglove with dark green foliage. Tall spikes of interesting tawny yellow flowers. Can handle it quite dry in part shade. DR TNT
450 Digitalis lutea 12X12 0 A nice perennial foxglove to light up shadier areas in the garden. Rosettes of dark green leaves, racemes of short pale yellow flowers that almost appear to be carved out of wax. DR TNT
55 Digitalis obscura 24X24 4 Wonderful foxglove from Spain with willowy green leaves on woody stems. Burgundy flower stalks with interesting flowers of tawny copper. Can take full sun and is more xeric than many foxgloves. Plant with Spanish Lavender for an arresting combo. DR TNT
56 Digitalis thapsi 18X12 5 Another foxglove from Spain that can handle drier conditions. This one with large fuzzy leaves and classic pink foxglove flowers. DR TNT
