Plant ID Plant name Culture ht X width(in) Zone Description
954 Campanula coriacea 7X6 5 Dense tufts of leathery leaves withpanicles of lilac blue bells
608 Campanula dolomitica 8X5 Mound of grey green leaves and spires of creamy flowers in spring. One of the few perennial Campanulas that thrive in our hot dry gardens. TNT
320 Campanula hawkinsiana 5X8 6 This is an exquisite Campanula from Greece and Albania. Deep purple flowers with dark veining over mat of dark green. Said to be short-lived in many climates, but self-seeds well. We treat it as an annual and let it seed about. In the right location, it blooms for a ridiculously long time. TNT
35 Campanula kemulariae 8X24 4 Shiny green heart-shaped leaves and clusters of mauve bells. Spreads gently by creeping rootstock. Can take drier conditions than many Campanulas, given part shade conditions and rocks to creep around. My favorite campanula. DR TNT
1032 Cercis occidentalis 168X100 7 One of our most beautiful native tree/shrubs. Attractive heart shaped green leaves emerge after the spectacular spring display of deep rose pink flowers. Ornamental bean like seed pods linger later. In our area, hardy to about 4500’. Sun or shade. Highly recommended. Seed grown from local populations. 5 gal pots. CA WN TNT
727 Clematis scottii 20X13 5 A small bush clematis from Colorado. Deep blue/purple bell lanterns followed by ornamental feathery seed heads. WN
725 Clematis columbiana 7X5 3 A very small bush Clematis from Utah. Violet pendant flowers hover over a few incised leaflets. WN
726 Clematis hirsutissima 13X6 5 A western bush clematis with dissected hirsute foliage under blue purple pendant flowers. Quart pots. WN
911 Clematis integrifolia 30X30 4 Bell shaped nodding violet flowers on this non-climbing clematis from Hungary. Good for rambling through or around other plants. We were frankly rather surprised that it lived in our garden, but it did. Supposedly it likes moist conditions. You could have fooled me. It may be due to its placement on the north side of a large boulder. TNT
296 Clematis lasiantha 100X36 0 Our beautiful native Clematis. Tall vines will grow up fences, trees, trellis, or other shrubs. Clouds of white flowers in spring followed by fluffy seedheads. In deep quart pots. CA WN TNT
